How we are sorting out this problem
There are many many solutions to the demolition of the rainforest and all the aspects of deforestation. S.T.A.R just focuses on the problems caused by small scale aggriculture (explained on the "why are the animals endangered?" page). We are currently trying to help the animals of the Amazon rainforest by educating the people living in the rainforest and creating rainforest reserves.
Educating the people who live in the rainforestWe are legally sending people out to the Amazon rainforest to educate the subsistant farmers in how to protect and save the rainforest. We teach them why it's important to look after the rainforest and how to look after it, like how to farm sustainably. This is an effective method of preventing rainforest deforestation because by educating these people the information we teach will passed down through generations and will still allow them to provide enough food for them and their families.

Forest reservesAnother way we are protecting the Amazon rainforest is by working with the Brazillian Goverment to create forest reserves throughout the Amazon Rainforest. This means the rainforest can thrive in these areas and be restored to it`s former glory. It also means that all the animals in this area will be protected from deforestation and will be able to live in peace. |
Please note that this website was
done for a geography project , all the facts and information on the website are
true but we are not working in other countries, working with the Brazillian
Goverment or playing an active role in protecting the rainforest, only raising
awareness. We believe the pages under "animals endangered" are factually correct
but pages under "How do we sort it out?" aren`t factually correct. All the links
on the website are to actual online proper websites and aren`t linked to this
website or this project. WWF is a website where you actually can play an active
role in protecting the rainforest.
